It was formed almost 15 million years ago, when a huge meteorite flew to earth and fell in the area of ​​present-day Bavaria. Due to the extreme pressure and heat and the presence of natural mineral particles, very special crystals were formed, which today we call Moldavite. 

The name comes from the name "Moldau", which is another name for the river Vltava in the area of ​​the Czech Republic, where the first pieces of this special crystal were discovered.
